The Phelan Family Brand’s story is one of adversity and triumph, perseverance and determination, passion and achievement. But to forge success one must conquer the challenges created by progress, and nowhere is this concept better demonstrated than in the men and women who have dedicated their talents achieving this common goal. As we continue to grow so too does our family, each with our own stories to commit to its success. But let’s start from the beginning.
As a restaurateur and businessman Tony Phelan aspired to fashion a life for his family in the great state of Texas. Together with his wife Kathleen they raised their two sons Grant and Adam. But after the Texas financial crisis of the 1980’s the Phelan’s lost nearly everything, and the decision was made to relocate in search of greater prospects. They eventually settled down in Southwest Florida and worked tirelessly to survive. Their precarious situation was made worse only a few years after their move as Tony was diagnosed with cancer and given no more than 2 years to live.
